Because we’re living on a planet where reboots evolve from originals, we’re getting a third entry in the Planet of the Apes series! War for the Planet of the Apes highlights Caesar’s wish for peace, but willingness to battle humans like Woody Harrelson.

So are you rooting for, the humans or the apes? We’ll find out who wins when War for the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on July 14, 2017!
You and I are living in a world where there will soon be 9 Planet of the Apes movies. Not to mention two TV shows (live action and animated), novels, audio adventures, and multiple comic book series. And some of them are really good. What does this mean? Why is the concept so fascinating?
Speaking as someone who loves the original and Escape From and who was moved to tears by both of the new Caesar films, I can’t even figure it out.
I’m excited about this new one too. It just amazes me how this thing has lasted.
Pierre Boulle, what hath thou wrought?
#1
Good question. Maybe it’s because apes are so close to us. They’re family, and Boulle wrought a family feud. Plus it’s fascinating to see a less developed version of humanity develop in modern times. The image of a chimp with a machine gun… ah, it’s the simple things in life, isn’t it? Can’t wait.
I vote for being slaughtered by apes, I think they just want it more.
Is that Andy Serkis, out of motion-capture suit and dots, playing opposite himself at 35 seconds in? It may not be, but I think that would be THE BEST if so! (And if I were the filmmakers, I’d certainly make it so.)
Dawn of the planet of the apes was superb and underrated it seems to me so I have high hopes for this, I just want them to go further for the next one and focus solely on an ape society led by an old and frail caesar.
One of the movies I’m most looking forward to in 2017.
